A time when the leaves become gold and red
And the air has become crisp and cool.
‘Tis time to put firewood in the shed
‘Tis time, children, to go back to school.

The sun sets earlier in the skies
Soup simmers on the stove.
Mother bakes fresh bread and pies;
The house smells like ginger and cloves.

Do our chores, be busy like bees;
The effort is so worthwhile.
Pick up the rake to gather the leaves
And after, we’ll jump in the pile.

The season of autumn is here once again;
Summer ends with grace.
Let the celebration of harvest begin,
Until winter takes its place.

Happy First Day of Fall!
